I am truly grateful to Jacky whom was looking for a 2nd shooter for Nico & Johanna’s wedding and gave me the opportunity of doing so, with no wedding experience at that stage.
It was most certainly quite an adventure as the wedding was held on the couples farm during the December continuous rain pour. Access to the farm was challenging as the river had overflowed and rushed over the bridge which we had to cross to get to the farm… wondering how I would cross the bridge without being washed away, Nico’s Dad hopped in my car and safely got us across to the other side.
Further to the day, with muddy areas, soggy grass, heavy clouds in the sky and the wedding taking place outside, being a newbie, my mind was rushing with the thoughts of how, where and when Jacky and I would be taking photos if the rain continued. Needless to say, by midday, the clouds disappeared, the beautiful blue sky revealed itself and what I initially thought was going to be any brides worst nightmare, turned out the be Johanna’s desired day.
Nico & Johanna were the most down to earth couple ever, assisting here and there as everyone was getting their big day ready, I could not have asked for a more friendlier couple that made my 1st wedding photography experience truly memorable ,with Jacky showing me the ropes, also letting me explore my own style, I thank Jacky for believing in me and look forward to assisting her again in March and July of this year.
