Often it takes other’s perception to make me realise what a beautiful country we live in. Scott & Colette are from the UK but chose to tie the knot at The Farm Inn Country Hotel, a venue that is a true reflection of the African wildlife and all its beauty.
With a small intimate wedding of less than 30 guests flown in from the UK, Scott & Colette were united as one with the most important people around them, being witness to a one of a kind love.
Having gone to the same school, it was only when at a Hot Tub House Party a few years later that things started heating up between Scott & Colette.
Scott decided to take their relationship to the next level in 2012 and proposed to Colette on Valentine’s Day(which happens to be Colette’s birthday as well)
Colette knew it was love when she realised she couldn’t be without Scott and wanted him in her life forever. When asked what it was about Scott that made him “The one” Colette replied ” I ask myself that question everyday ha ha only kidding why Scott??? Well were do I start he is the most honest, kind and trustworthy person, he is my rock and has seen me at my best and at my worse he has seen me fail and succeed and I love the fact that whatever life has thrown at us along the way we have come back stronger. He is my best friend and my soul mate and I couldn’t imagine life without him in it.”
Scott adores Colette and you can see it in the way he looks at her, he had the following to say about his gorgeous wife “She is the best thing that as happened to me. When we first started seeing each other I could not think of anything else I wanted to be with her or talk or text all the time. I probably got on her nerves. When we got serious I knew I made the right choice she is the best I could of hoped for she is a brilliant person, mum, wife and she is my best friend we have had good and tough times like everybody as but we all ways come out smiling. And what ever we do we do it together and I wouldn’t have it any other way”
I asked what the secret is to their successful relationship as Scott is currently working here in South Africa while Colette lives in the UK raising their 2 boys, ” It’s all about working together, having trust, communicating and always finding room for common ground. Most importantly it’s about love and treating each other as equals and having mutual respect for each other and their needs/feelings alongside supporting each other.”
Colette is coming back to South Africa in a few weeks and I am super excited about seeing the Woodcocks again for their family shoot.
Scott & Colette
Becoming friends on Facebook and seeing how you both manage to keep your love so very strong whilst being thousands of miles from each other, truly shows the deep bond and connection you have. I am in awe and am so very grateful that I was selected to capture your magical day, for it is after the fact that I realise that I truly walk away inspired by your love. My wish for you both is that you continue to grow stronger and closer in your marriage with honesty and trust being your foundation.
Tim, 2nd Photographer
Even though it was a small wedding, many often ask “Why 2 photographers?” and your photos below show exactly why. The moments captured where Scott is dressing his 2 boys on HIS wedding day are priceless. There are so many moments that I would not have been able to get and because of you, a full story can be told here. Thank you once again for being there always 🙂
A few words from Scott & Colette about Anabela Lourenco Photography
